This is the last photo of my year-long macro project. It has been a ton of fun and I have learned a lot, mainly patience in setting up my shots. It also affirmed the use of a tripod would greatly help in creating photos that you just can't get while hand-holding your camera.
This photo was taken along my favourite nature trail, near my house. I find that you have to not only look left and right, but also look down as you never know what you will see. It just so happened I was walking along and saw this twig sticking out of the snow with a great shadow to boot! I love its simplicity.
