Week 52 - February 24 - March 2, 2013

This is the last photo of my year-long macro project.  It has been a ton of fun and I have learned a lot, mainly patience in setting up my shots.  It also affirmed the use of a tripod would greatly help in creating photos that you just can't get while hand-holding your camera.  

This photo was taken along my favourite nature trail, near my house.  I find that you have to not only look left and right, but also look down as you never know what you will see.  It just so happened I was walking along and saw this twig sticking out of the snow with a great shadow to boot!  I love its simplicity.

Week 51

Week 51 - February 17-23, 2013

Second last week of the project.  The weather turned super cold, then warmed up, then froze again.  This icicle was hanging from our neighbour's house.  I thought the shape was really neat.  One of my photo friends said it looked like a ballet dancer!

Week 50 - February 10-16, 2013

Back home after our trip.  Here it was Valentine's Day and I was too sick to go shopping for a card for Hannes, let alone go out and shoot some photos.  So I decided to become artistic and came up with this idea using my Travel Scrabble game.  In editing, I had some fun with a filter to make this even more lovey-dovey.  I then printed it on photo paper and gave it to Hannes for Valentine's Day.

The final photo from our resort in the Dominican Republic.  They had a couple of beautiful ponds, this one had lily pads and little fishies swimming.
